Alexander Bazarov

Graduated from the economic department of Kiev University in 1984. Obtained PhD in economics from Kiev University in 1987.

In 1987-1991 lectured economics in Kiev medical Institute, worked as freelance financial journalist for various newspapers, including Dagens Nyheter (largest Swedish daily newspaper at that time). Co-Founder and major shareholder of JSC Inter, a JV Inter-Trade (Joint Venture with Swedish company Barter-Trade, subsidiary of Procordia AB).

In 1991-1992 worked at the National Bank of Ukraine as acting head of the International banking department.

In 1992 won a US government grant (Muskie Fellowship program) and went to the USA to study international economics and finance. Graduated from Wharton school of Business in 1995, MBA in finance and accounting.

International banking career started at Bankers Trust in New York and London in 1995, followed bv Credit Suisse First Boston in London, Kiev, Zurich (1996-2004), Deutsche Bank in London, Kiev, Moscow (2004-2008) and Sberbank in Moscow, Kiev, Zurich, London, Abu Dhabi (2008-2022), responsible for corporate investment banking business, and development of international business in the Middle East.

Stopped working for Sberbank and resigned immediately after February 24, 2022.

Ukrainian and British citizen, resident in the United Arab Emirates from 2018 till present time.
