Gustavo Enrique Cañonero

Mr. Cañonero is currently director and portfolio manager at Fundcorp from Grupo CMF. He joined the Grupo in July 2021, following 18 months of sabbatical after concluding 2 years as Deputy Governor of Argentina's Central Bank.

Previously he was a partner at SBS Funds, Managing Director and Head of Economic Research for Emerging Markets at Deutsche Bank (for 20 years), Chief Latam Economist at Salomon Brothers, and Economist at the IMF.

Mr. Cañonero holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Masters in Economic Theory from the Institute for Social and Economic Development (IDES-Argentina), and a BA in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires- Argentina.

While working in New York for Salomon Brothers and Deutsche Bank, he held registration with FINRA, specifically Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law), and Series 24 (General Security Principal).
