Rupert Thompson

Rupert Thompson has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, working as an equity strategist and head of research for various companies. Rupert is currently the MD and Chief Investment Officer at Kingswood Group.

Thompson began their career in 2002 as a global equity strategist for E*TRADE. In this role, they were responsible for establishing an equity strategy product and raising the company's media profile. Rupert left E*TRADE in 2004 to join GFC Economics Ltd., an independent economics consultancy, as a partner. At GFC Economics Ltd., Thompson was responsible for providing macro research to leading financial institutions.

In 2006, Thompson joined PAM Global Investments as their head of research and global equity strategist. In this role, they were responsible for asset allocation recommendations, authoring a bi-weekly publication on the global economic and market outlook, and leading communication of market views to private bankers and clients. Rupert also generated top trading stock ideas and buy lists for US, European, and EM stocks, and provided bespoke equity research and ideas for the structured products team. Thompson left PAM Global Investments in 2018 to assume their current role at Kingswood Group.

Rupert Thompson reports to Gary Wilder, Group Chief Executive Officer. They work with Richard Klein - MD, Alternatives and Distribution, Graydon Butler - Group COO, and Patrick Goulding - CEO (subsidiaries) & CFO.
