Briar Gonie

Briar Gonie is a mine geologist with extensive experience in the mining industry, currently working at Kinross Gold Corporation since September 2023. Previously, Briar worked at Hecla Mining Company from March 2021 to May 2023, where responsibilities included daily face mapping, sample submission to the assay lab, and muck tonnage tracking. Prior to that, Briar spent three years at Victoria Gold Corp., handling grade control, supervising technicians, and engaging in community outreach. Additional experience includes roles at Banyan Gold Corp. and a student geologist position at Victoria Gold Corp. Briar's career began in general labor with JG Concrete & Construction, contributing to construction projects before moving into the geology field. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an Associate of Science from Howard College.
