Jay D. Grimes

Starting in 1991, Jay D. Grimes served for six years in the US Army as a Military Police Officer, eventually becoming the chief military investigator for a large installation. In this role, they were responsible for handling criminal complaints, conducting investigations, and liaising with various law enforcement agencies. Jay D. also received specialized training in military police investigations, protective services, and firearms.

Following their military service, Grimes worked in various roles at PD / EMS from 1997 to 2004.

From 2007 to 2014, Grimes worked at Hansen, McClintock & Riley, initially as a Law Clerk and later as an Attorney. During this time, they represented clients in legal cases, including the Butt v. Iowa Bd. of Med. case.

Since 2014, Grimes has been with Kinze Manufacturing, Inc. In their role as Corporate Counsel, they provide legal counsel to the company's management and business units in areas such as marketing, commercial transactions, litigation, real estate, and tax matters. Jay D. also manages outside counsel and advises on commercial contracts. Additionally, as Compliance Counsel, Grimes ensures Kinze's compliance with various laws and regulations, including export controls, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and consumer safety regulations. Jay D. monitors political and legal developments and implements and maintains Kinze's Export Compliance Program.

Jay D. Grimes' education history begins in 1997 when they attended Des Moines Area Community College and obtained an AGS degree in General Studies in 1998. Jay D. later went on to William Penn University from 2004 to 2006, where they completed their undergraduate studies and obtained a B.A. degree in Business Administration. Subsequently, from 2006 to 2009, Jay attended Drake University and earned their Juris Doctor degree. Additionally, in May 2020, they obtained a certification in Market Research Foundations from LinkedIn.
