Jess Simpson

Jess Simpson has a strong background in education, starting with a role as a Corps Member for Teach For America from 2010 to 2012. Jess then moved on to become a Department Lead and Instructor for HS Sciences at Denver Public Schools from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, they joined KIPP Colorado Schools, initially as a STEM Instructional Coach and Instructor, where they designed and implemented curriculum for AP Biology, physics, and biochemistry. Jess also played a crucial role in the redesign of science programming and taught a portfolio of science and math teachers. From 2015 to 2016, Jess served as the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction at KIPP Colorado Schools before transitioning to the role of Assistant Principal from 2016 to 2019. In 2018, they also became a Miles Family Fellow. Jess'smost recent position at KIPP Colorado Schools is as Principal, a role they have held since June 2019. Additionally, from 2017 to 2018, Jess worked as a Curriculum Design Specialist and Team Lead: Science for the KIPP Foundation. Overall, Jess has consistently demonstrated a commitment to education and a strong understanding of curriculum design and instructional leadership.

Jess Simpson completed a Master's Degree in Education Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2010, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology from The College of Wooster.
