Karlo Silbiger (He/Him/His)

Karlo Silbiger is the Managing Director of External Policy at KIPP DC, overseeing our policy agenda, building relationships with elected and government officials, and helping to amplify our community's voices in decision making. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Karlo served as the Director of College-Going Culture at the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools. Previously, he was a classroom teacher for 16 years in Los Angeles and Boston. He received his Bachelor’s Degrees in Music Education and Social Studies Education from Boston University and his Master’s Degree is in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University. Most recently, he received his Doctorate of Education Leadership from UCLA, focusing on union and management collaboration in reforming teacher evaluation. Karlo was previously very active in his community of Culver City, California, where he served for four years as an elected member of the School Board and on their Housing and Homelessness Committee.
