Monique Hardin-Simmons

Monique Hardin-Simmons joined KIPP DC in February 2013 as a Capital Teaching Resident and is currently the Principal of KIPP DC Promise Academy. In this role, Ms. Simmons supports staff in providing quality, culturally relevant education to all students. Mrs. Simmons is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina and obtained a degree in Public Policy and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining KIPP DC, Mrs. Simmons worked in the field of education supporting public school districts in North Carolina and DC Public Schools. When Mrs. Simmons isn’t working, she can be found writing and/or watching detective based TV shows.
