Ali Wilson

Head, Academics at KIPP Metro Atlanta

Ali Wilson is the current Head of Academics at KIPP Metro Atlanta. Ali has dedicated their career to education and teacher development, making significant contributions to organizations like Teach For America.

Wilson started their career as a corps member with Teach For America in 2006. Ali quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a regional project lead and then a manager of teacher leadership development. In this role, they were responsible for supporting the development of corps members in order to improve student outcomes in schools across Middle Tennessee.

In 2010, Wilson moved to Vanderbilt University to work as a research assistant in special education. However, they returned to Teach For America two years later to take on the role of director of teacher leadership development. In this role, they oversaw staff and corps members, collaborated with the community, and contributed to staff development and regional programming.

Wilson has been with KIPP Metro Atlanta since July 2014. In their current role as head of academics, they oversee all academic programs and initiatives for the organization.

Ali Wilson has a M.Ed. in Reading Education, ELL from Vanderbilt University, a BA in English from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a degree in Religious Studies from Victoria University of Wellington.

They are on a team with Crystal Nasir - Chief Impact Officer, Callie Hudak - Managing Director of Development, and Ra’chel Ford - Chief Operating Officer. Their manager is Mini’imah Shaheed, CEO.
