Andrea Mendez has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to the present. Andrea began their career as a Recruitment Associate for Teach For America, where they developed and implemented recruitment campaigns and provided logistical coordination for targeted events. Andrea then transitioned to a Science Teacher role at Buckeye Union High School, where they created a conducive learning environment for students and developed rigorous curriculum. Mendez later joined Teach For America again as a Summer Institute Staff Member, where they managed a team and oversaw operational and instructional systems. Andrea then moved on to Harlem Village Academies as a Founding Operations Director, where they researched and planned to open two new elementary charter schools in Harlem and oversaw various school-wide systems and procedures. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Schools - Operations at KIPP Nashville.

Andrea Mendez completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physiology & Neurobiology at the University of Maryland from 2002 to 2006. Andrea further pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Secondary Science Education at Arizona State University from 2007 to 2009.
