Senior Director Of Strategic Projects at KIPP Schools

Julia Addeo has a diverse work experience in the education field. Julia first started their career as a Summer Teaching Fellow at North Star Academy College Preparatory High School, where they organized and developed curriculum and lesson plans for an algebra II program. Julia then joined Teach For America as a Corps Member, working for two years. Julia later worked at Uncommon Schools as a Lead Lesson Planner for Algebra I. Julia then transitioned to North Star Academy Charter School of Newark, where they held several roles including Mathematics Department Chair and High School Mathematics Teacher. Julia also served as the Summer School Director during their time there. Following that, they joined North Star Academy Lincoln Park High School as the Mathematics Department Chair and Founding Math Teacher. Most recently, they have been working at Uncommon Schools as the Director of High School Mathematics. In 2020, they joined the KIPP Foundation as a Director of Strategic Projects and has now assumed the role of Senior Director of Strategic Projects.

Julia Addeo holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo, which they obtained between the years 2009 and 2013. Julia later pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) with a focus on Secondary Mathematics at Relay Graduate School of Education from 2013 to 2015. Julia then attended Stanford University as a Hollyhock Fellow from 2015 to 2017.
