Mercedes Peters

Mercedes Peters, PMP has extensive work experience in project management and technology roles. Mercedes currently holds the position of Senior Director, Technical Projects and Quality Assurance at KIPP Foundation since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Director, Technical Projects and Quality Assurance at the same organization from July 2021 to July 2022. Before joining KIPP Foundation, Mercedes served as a Senior Project Manager in Technology at the organization from June 2020 to July 2021.

Before their tenure at KIPP Foundation, Mercedes worked as an IT Project Manager at Victoriam Consulting Group from August 2018 to June 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Technology Project Manager at KIPP Foundation from January 2014 to June 2018.

Mercedes has also gained experience in the education sector, working as an Enrollment Manager at Envision Schools from September 2012 to December 2013. Mercedes started their career as an Intern at the Fund for the Advancement of Minorities in Education in October 2011 and later served as a Summer Fellow at San Francisco Unified School District's Special Education Department at Education Pioneers from June 2011 to August 2011.

Mercedes also had an internship role at the Office of Teacher Effectiveness at Pittsburgh Public Schools from November 2010 to July 2011.

Mercedes began their professional career at Accenture as a Manager from July 2004 to July 2010. With their diverse experience in project management and technology, they have developed strong skills and expertise in executing projects and ensuring high-quality results.

Mercedes Peters, PMP has a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, which was earned from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Morgan State University, from 2000 to 2004. In addition, they hold a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in October 2019.
