Cammie Brown

Cammie Brown has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Regional Case Manager at KIPP SoCal Public Schools. In this position, they manage the referral and assessment process for special education, develops and revises Individualized Education Programs, ensures compliance with special education laws and policies, and serves as a point of contact for families throughout the IEP process.

Before joining KIPP SoCal, Cammie worked at KIPP NYC from 2018 to 2022. Cammie initially served as a Math/Special Education Teacher and Grade Team Leader, where they supported all learners and maintained accurate special education records. Later, they took on the role of Interim Director of Student Support Services, where they implemented programs, supported related service providers, worked closely with the Committee on Special Education, and served as a point of contact for families of students with disabilities.

Prior to their time at KIPP NYC, Cammie worked at Achievement First from 2015 to 2018, where they were a Math and Special Education Teacher, as well as a Science Teacher. At MDRC, they worked as a K-12 Education Policy Research Assistant from 2013 to 2015. Earlier in their career, they served as a Program Assistant at Princeton University's Community House After School Program and was the Founder of Science Exploration Saturday. Cammie also interned at the Making Waves Foundation in 2011.
