Kris Sanchez has a diverse work experience in various fields.
Starting in 2011, Kris worked as a Human Performance Analyst and Consultant at UCSB Wellness and Fitness Institute. They then took on the role of Staff Supervisor and Sport Coordinator at UCSB Recreational Sports.
In 2012, Kris became a Teaching Assistant at the UCSB Exercise and Sports Science Department.
In 2013, Kris worked as a Human Resources Executive Team Leader at Target for two years.
From 2015 to 2016, Kris worked as a Store Operations Manager at Starbucks.
Kris then joined Teach For America in 2016 and served as a Corps Member for two years. They later became an Instructional Coach, supporting new teachers in elementary schools.
In 2020, Kris joined Alder Graduate School of Education as an Alder Resident Mentor, where they facilitated professional development and provided coaching sessions to mentor residents.
Since 2016, Kris has also been involved with KIPP SoCal Public Schools, starting as a Second Grade Teacher and progressing to roles such as Kindergarten Teacher, Fourth Grade Teacher, and eventually Instructional Manager/Coach and Regional Mathematics Planner/Curriculum Analyst. In these roles, Kris gained experience in curriculum analysis, data analysis, instructional practices, and team leadership.
Kris Sanchez has a diverse education history. In 2009, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Education from UC Santa Barbara. Following that, from 2015 to 2017, Kris pursued a Master's of Behavioral Science degree in School and Family Based Counseling at the University of La Verne. In addition, Kris completed a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at Loyola Marymount University from 2016 to 2017, focusing on Elementary Education and Teaching.
Continuing their educational journey, Kris enrolled in the University of Southern California in 2021 to pursue a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, with an anticipated completion in 2024.
Furthermore, Kris has obtained various certifications, including No-Nonsense Nurturer Training from CT3 in June 2016, a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from the University of La Verne in June 2016, and a certification in U.S. Constitution Exam from CTC in June 2016. Additionally, Kris obtained CPR/First Aid/AED certification from United Red Cross in 2010.
