Martin Pietrucha is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as Senior Principal Engineer at Kittelson & Associates, Inc. since September 2022, Martin's academic career includes roles as Professor Emeritus and Professor of Civil Engineering at Penn State University, beginning in August 1990. Martin also held the position of Director of the Engineering Systems Program at Pennsylvania State University from March 2014 to June 2018, and served as Director of The Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute from August 2008 to December 2015. Earlier experience includes working as a Program Officer at the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies and as Principal Engineer at the Center for Applied Research. Martin Pietrucha earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation from the University of Maryland, and holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology, respectively.
