Richard Hetherington has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Richard started their career as a Property Solicitor at Rennie Cox/Urban Legal from April 1994 to August 1996. In February 1999, Richard joined Kiwi Partners as a Senior Manager, CFO Consulting. In this role, they were responsible for managing the finances of multiple non-profit organizations. Richard'sduties included budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, supervision of accounting staff, investment management, human resources, payroll and benefits management, process re-engineering, and accounting operations management. Richard also worked closely with the senior management team of these organizations. Richard currently holds the position of Vice President of Accounting at Kiwi Partners, where they began in November 2021.

Richard Hetherington obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from the University of Otago, completing their studies between 1988 and 1993. In 2013, they pursued further education at NYU Stern School of Business and earned an MBA with a focus on Leadership, Management, and Finance.
