Colin Ngan has a strong work history in compliance and legal roles. Colin started their career as a Senior Executive Business Consultant at the Legal Services Commission in 1997 and later worked as a Crown Prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service. Colin then transitioned into the private sector, working as a Solicitor at Boodle Hatfield LLP and a Trainee Solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons. Colin also gained experience as a Legal Assistant at Speechly Bircham and as a Management Consultant & Principal Legal Counsel at Auditing & Consulting Services.
In 2005, Colin joined the Financial Ombudsman Service as an Adjudicator, where they remained until 2012. Currently, Colin serves as the Head of Regulatory Compliance for Klarna, responsible for multi-country/regional compliance and anti-financial crime systems and controls.
Throughout their career, Colin has demonstrated expertise in governance procedures, risk management, and compliance oversight. Colin has also contributed to product and service development, provided technical advice, and supported transformation and change initiatives within organizations.
Colin Ngan's education history includes various degrees and certifications. Colin obtained a Specialist Certificate in Financial Crime Risk & New Technology from the International Compliance Association in 2022. In 2019, they earned a Specialist Certificate in Financial Crime Risk in Global Banking & Markets from the same institution. From 2018 to 2019, they pursued a Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance from the International Compliance Association. In 2017, they completed a Specialist Certificate in Conduct Risk from the same institution. In 2015, Colin attended the Barclays Compliance Academy at the Cambridge Judge Business School.
Earlier in their education, Colin earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) from The University of Law in 1999 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (LL [CPE]) from BPP Law School in 1997. In 2016, Colin received training in SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence from SAP. Colin also qualified and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors by The Law Society in 2002.
