Ulrike Lorenz

President at Classic Foundation Weimar

Ulrike Lorenz is President of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar since August 2019. She was a Director of the Kunsthalle Mannheim, Member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts - "Fine Arts" section; Member of the Leipzig Circle of German Art Museums (until 2019), Board member of the German Museum Association, Director of the Art Forum Ostdeutsche Galerie, Regensburg; 2008 Friedrich Baur Prize of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, and a Director of the Gera Art Collection with Otto Dix Haus, 2002 assumption of management of the Gera City Museum.

She open the new building of the Kunsthalle Mannheim with a dynamic museum concept and digital strategy; Awarding the Golden Badge of Honor of the Frauenbrücke Prize for the internal unity of Germany in 2018. She was Curator of the first Otto Dix retrospective in Latin America: “Otto Dix: Violencia y Pasión”, Mexico City National Gallery.

She holds a Doctorate at the Bauhaus University Weimar and studied art science and archeology at the University of Leipzig.
