Toby Elery

Toby Elery is an experienced professional in mechanical engineering and product development, currently serving as the Manager of Product Engineering at Klein Tools, having progressed through roles including Project Engineer and Senior Mechanical Engineer since September 2020. Prior to this position, Toby was a Bioengineering Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Texas at Dallas and a Mechanical Engineer/Advanced Researcher at Toyota North America, where notable contributions included actuator design and troubleshooting mechanical failures. Toby's academic background comprises a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on Manufacturing & Design Innovation, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Dallas. During the academic tenure, key achievements included mentoring researchers, utilizing advanced CAD and modeling techniques, and conducting extensive research on robotic devices, which led to the significant enhancement of prosthetic technology.
