Tomas Barreto

Tomas Barreto is an experienced technology executive and investor with a strong background in engineering and product development. Currently serving as an Operating Partner in Engineering at Kleiner Perkins since October 2024, Tomas has also co-founded and held the position of CTO at Okay, an analytics platform for engineering leaders, from 2019 to 2023. Throughout a diverse career, Tomas has advised and invested in over 20 startups, including Loom and Modern Treasury, while contributing as a Scout for Sequoia Capital and an advisor for Y Combinator. Previous roles include VP of Product and Engineering at Checkr and VP of Engineering at Box, where Tomas progressed through various engineering leadership positions. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Duke University, earned between 2004 and 2008.
