Scott Bitterman has over 25 years of work experience in the software engineering and development industry. Scott began their career in 1995 as a Residential Faculty at the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science, where they taught Philosophy and Chess and served as Dorm Director to 130+ high school students. In 1998, they moved to the University of Georgia, where they worked as a Technical Support Consultant, designing and programming a Natural Language Processing interactive web based email parsing agent. In 2000, they joined McKesson Provider Technologies as a Software Engineer, developing business rules for an Insurance Claims Reimbursement system and enhancing data retrieval by designing an XML parsing system to import data. In 2001, they moved to WebTone Technologies, where they were an Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer, improving response time and accuracy of a Natural Language Recognition Automatic Email parsing system. In 2003, they returned to McKesson Provider Technologies as a Software Engineer III, saving hospitals millions of dollars by designing, programming and maintaining 200+ business rules for a Medical Insurance Reimbursement system and making batch claim processing up to six times faster. In 2004, they became an Independent Consultant, creating configurable applications to dynamically display TV schedules for all of BFC's programming and increasing a company's online presence by working with owners to redesign all sites from the ground up. In 2005, they joined First National Bank of Omaha as a Senior Programmer Analyst, doing web programming and server side scripting using Java, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XSL, Web Services, and Content Management. In 2009, they moved to Emory University as a Senior Software Engineer. Finally, in 2010, they joined Turner as a Senior Software Developer. In 2022, they moved to Knack as a Senior Backend Engineer.

Scott Bitterman earned their MS in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Georgia in 2004. Scott also holds a BA in Philosophy from Spring Hill College. Additionally, they obtained an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from PEOPLECERT in September 2013 and a ScrumMaster certification from the Scrum Alliance in February 2012.
