Femke Niehof

Femke Niehof currently serves as Woordvoerder / Senior Communicatieadviseur at KNAW - Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen since November 2023, providing a voice and guidance for science in the Netherlands. Previously, Femke held the position of Communicatieadviseur Cultuur en Media at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science from May 2023 to November 2023. As a Strategisch communicatiemanager at both the Alliantie Digitaal Samenleven and the Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid from April 2022 to May 2023, a focus was placed on enhancing digital skills and safety among citizens. Femke's experience also includes significant roles at Universiteit Utrecht, including Senior Adviseur Wetenschapscommunicatie, and earlier positions at the Meertens Instituut, Fulbright Center, and Acoustiguide International. Academic qualifications include a MSc in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam, alongside various certifications in communication and storytelling.
