Jerry de Vries is an experienced professional in the fields of information science and digital competence management, currently serving as the Coordinator of the Digital Competence Center at KNAW since April 2015. In this role, Jerry is responsible for establishing and maintaining digital competency initiatives. Additionally, Jerry has been a member of the works council at KNAW since 2015. Previously, as Project Lead at DANS from November 2016 to December 2023, Jerry managed various European and national open science projects and contributed to the development of FAIR data policies. Earlier experience includes positions as an Information Analyst and Technical Project Lead at IISG, and a Software Engineer at Kadaster. Jerry holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Information Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and has recently completed further education at the Nederlandse fotovakschool.
