Marie-Jose Goumans

Marie-Jose Goumans is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in cardiovascular and molecular cell biology. Currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Cell and Chemical Biology at LUMC since January 2018, and as a Professor of Molecular Cardiovascular Cell Biology at LUMC since March 2008, Marie-Jose has also held the position of Associate Professor. Marie-Jose is a member of the Young Academy at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) since 2009. Prior roles include Assistant Professor at UMC Utrecht from August 2003 to March 2008, Postdoctoral Researcher at The Netherlands Cancer Institute from 2000 to 2003, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Ltd in 1999. Marie-Jose completed a PhD at the Hubrecht Institute from 1994 to 1999 and studied at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst from 1987 to 1989, with undergraduate education at Utrecht University from 1989 to 1994.
