Susanne Janssen

Susanne Janssen is a distinguished academic currently serving as Professor of Sociology of Media and Culture at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where roles include Research Programme Director for Media and Communication, founding academic director of ERMeCC, Head of the Department of Media and Communication, and Director of the Research Master in Sociology of Culture, Media and the Arts. As the founding Dean of the International Bachelor in Communication and Media, Susanne has been instrumental in shaping curricula in this field. Additionally, Susanne holds a part-time board member position at NWO's SSH Domain, and is a member of the Council for the Humanities and the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences. Susanne also coordinates the INVENT project at INVENTCULTURE and has previously served as Co-Editor in Chief for Poetics and as a member of the Dutch Council for Culture. Education includes a Ph.D. from Tilburg University.
