Shang Wang

System Engineer at Kneron

Shang Wang has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. In 2016, they were an Exchange Student at National University, where they enrolled in the Computational Thinking and Algorithms for Big Data Community Discovery course given by Prof. Leong HonWai and implemented minkowski distance in R to cluster users of the social network according to the relationships between users. In 2018, they were a SDE Intern at SAP, where they developed an automated program to import large-scale customer information to the SAP C4C platform with multiprocessing method and complete logging system through SOAP and OData in Python. That same year, they were also a Research Intern at Dartmouth College, where they performed debugging and testing the code for data collection according to the TI CC2640r2f LaunchPad, collected data from field study by using a 3D-printed frame with PCB and a contact microphone, and integrated collected data and ground truth labels for classification. In 2019, they were a Research Intern at Microsoft, where they proposed an FPGA-based smart-camera design that enables efficient streaming processing to meet the unique characteristics of video surveillance applications and fully implemented background subtraction on a state-of-the-art FPGA platform in C++ with Vivado HLS. In 2020, they were an SDE Intern at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where they designed a systematic tracking tool to provide insights into each week's deployments, developed Command Line Interface for the tracking tool using Clikt, and implemented functions for the tracking tool using AWS Coral Service and DynamoDB in Kotlin. In 2021, they are a System Engineer and Software Engineer Intern at Kneron, where they have developed a Solution Release Management System which is used for managing the release processes and relationships through different teams to efficiently deliver the solutions to customers, designed Database and RESTful API, and utilized Django Framework to accurately track release records (code, models, datasets, and reports).

Shang Wang obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China between 2015 and 2019. In 2019, they began pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC San Diego, which they are expected to complete in 2021. In September 2020, they also obtained a Triplebyte Certified Generalist Software Engineer certification from Triplebyte.
