Site Reliability Engineer at Knock

Brian Valbjorn has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Brian began their career in the US Army, where they served as a Team Leader and was responsible for leading and maintaining a Military Police Squad. After their military service, Brian transitioned to the private sector and worked as a Sr Account Manager at Logical Maintenance Solutions, where they worked with clients to solve technology repair needs and supervised teams of employees.

In 2014, Brian joined Four Star Plumbing as an Operations Manager, overseeing operations and implementing improved systems that led to increased sales. Brian also provided research and development support to company ownership. Brian then joined Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems, Inc. in 2019 as an Inventory Control Manager, where they managed the organization's inventory system and budget.

Concurrently, Brian also worked at The Computer Action Team @ PSU since 2019. Initially, they served as a Senior Technical Support Specialist, providing IT support and training to students, faculty, and staff of the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science. Brian later became a Student Team Lead, leading a team of volunteers and spearheading the conception and operational design of technical writing and communications teams.

In 2022, Brian worked as an Information Technology Specialist at the City of Portland, where they installed and configured PCs for end users, troubleshooted software/hardware issues, and setup new equipment according to tickets.

Currently, Brian is employed at Knock® CRM as an Associate Site Reliability Engineer and as a DevOps Engineer Intern.

Brian Valbjorn obtained their Associate's degree in Psychology from Saddleback College from 2010 to 2012. Brian then pursued further education at California Coast University, where they completed their Bachelor's degree in Psychology from 2012 to 2014. Brian's educational journey continued at Portland State University, where they are currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
