Sarah Hawthorne is an experienced educational coach currently working at the Knowles Teacher Initiative since January 2017, providing professional development and coaching for middle and high school science teachers. Previous roles include facilitating professional development workshops and serving as a science teacher and department chair at Mountain View High School, where responsibilities involved coordinating a team of 13 teachers and mentoring new educators. Sarah's early career includes positions at the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, Leadership Public Schools, and various student teaching roles, along with a strong foundation in education from Stanford University, culminating in a Master of Arts in Secondary Education. Additionally, Sarah has experience in leadership as a youth director and has contributed to scientific research and education through various volunteer and academic roles.
