VP of Product at Koa Health

Remko Vermeulen has extensive experience in product and design, particularly in the digital health and technology sectors. Remko co-founded Koa Health, a digital mental health startup, where they served as the VP of Product. During their time there, they successfully led and expanded the product and design team, generated significant investments, and collaborated with prestigious institutions. Prior to Koa Health, Remko worked at Telefonica, where they held various roles including Head of Product & Service Design and User Experience lead Barcelona & eHealth. Remko contributed to the creation and management of multiple products in cloud, data privacy, and digital health, resulting in successful launches and significant improvements in patient care. Remko also has experience in user experience management and design consulting, having worked at NTRglobal, Delsey USA, Minale Tattersfield Design Strategy, I-D Media London, British Council, PCCW, and Electrolux Home Products. Throughout their career, Remko demonstrated strong leadership skills, innovation, and a user-centric approach to product development.

Remko Vermeulen completed their MSc degree in Innovation Management (Industrial Product Design) from Delft University of Technology between 1994 and 2000. During the same period, they also studied Psychology at Leiden University. In 2001, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Interior & Exhibition Design from Swinburne University of Technology, National School of Design Australia.

In terms of additional certifications, Remko obtained several certifications related to machine learning, AI, and healthcare. In 2020, they completed certifications in Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects from deeplearning.ai and Stanford University. In 2021, they obtained certifications in AI in Healthcare from Stanford University, Global Health Innovations Specialization from Imperial College London, The Data Science of Health Informatics from John Hopkins University, and The Economics of Health Care Delivery from the University of Pennsylvania.
