In addition to their formal education, Mike has obtained several certifications. Mike completed an Introduction to Python 3 Programming course at the City College of San Francisco in June 2020. Earlier, in January 2018, they successfully completed the One Month Ruby certification program offered by One Month. Mike also completed the One Month Rails course from the same institution in November 2017. In November 2014, they obtained the Fundamentals of Design certification from Code School. Mike also completed several other courses offered by Code School, including JavaScript Road Trip Part 2 (2014), Front-end Foundations (2014), and JavaScript Road Trip Part 1 (2014). Prior to these certifications, in August 2014, Mike completed the Programming for Everybody (Python) course offered by Coursera. Mike also successfully finished the Computer Science 101 course from Coursera in June 2012.
