Greg Coombe

Greg Coombe has a long and varied work experience. Greg began their career as a Research Assistant/Grad Student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000. In 2002, they worked as a Software Development Intern at Vicious Cycle Software. In 2003, they interned at Intel, and in 2004 they interned at NVIDIA. In 2006, they began working at Google as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked on Google Earth's Sky feature. In 2013, they moved to Matterport as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, where they worked on alignment/registration algorithms. In 2017, they joined DeepMap, Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer, where they worked on GPS-IMU, camera, and lidar data streams. In 2019, they moved to Aurora as a Staff Software Engineer. Currently, they are a Sr. Staff Engineer at Kodiak Robotics, where they began in 2022.

Greg Coombe attended the University of Utah from 1995 to 2000, earning a B.S. in Math and Computer Science. Greg then continued their studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they earned an M.S. in Computer Science in 2002 and a PhD in Computer Graphics in 2006.
