Matthew Cearnal has worked in the automotive industry since 2003. Matthew began as a Service Technician at Rush Enterprises, Inc. in 2003, and then moved to Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) in 2005, where they served as both a Service Technician and Shop Foreman. In 2011, they returned to Rush Enterprises, Inc. as a Service Technician, and then moved to Summit Truck Group in 2012, where they worked as a Service Technician. In 2014, they became the Owner of Matt's Repair Shop, and in 2017, they joined Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) again as a Service Technician. In 2019, they began working at Kodiak Robotics as a Hardware Manager and Fleet Technician, providing autonomous truck servicing of both the truck platform and the AV platform, building and refining repair processes, and improving the integration of the system onto the truck platform.

Matthew Cearnal completed their high school diploma at Palmer High School in 2001. Matthew then attended Texas State Technical College from 2001 to 2003, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Diesel Mechanics Technology/Technician.
