Erik Almenberg has over 20 years of experience in design, product development and product management. Erik began their career in 1994 as a Junior Designer at Veryday. In 1998, they worked as a Designer at Ross Lovegrove LTD. In 1999, they co-founded Peekaboo Design, a design consultancy specializing in projects integrating physical products with digital content. In 2000, they worked as a Design Manager and Product Developer at Ytterborn & Fuentes Design Management, where they developed brand strategies, design platforms, product systems and brand environments. In 2003, they founded imagegami and developed the first integrated brand/design management tool for Electrolux. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a Senior Design Strategist at Yahoo!, where they innovated the first successful online video advertising product. From 2007 to 2011, they were an Innovation Strategist and Leader at Doberman, leading 5 to 7 cross-functional teams per year. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Chief Product Officer at Blocket, responsible for the success of product development at Sweden's largest online marketplace. Since 2019, they have been the Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Kognity, a venture-backed ed-tech startup with customers in 110+ countries, leading the teams in content, technology, design and product.
Erik Almenberg's education history includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Konstfack, which they obtained between 1995 and 1998. Erik then attended Berghs School of Communication, where they earned a Certificate in Marketing Communication in 2001. Finally, in 2004 they obtained a Master of Design Methods from the Institute of Design (ID). Erik'sfield of study for all three degrees was Industrial Design, Marketing Communication and Branding, and Design Planning, respectively.
