James Chiboucas

As vice chairman and chief legal officer of KBS, Mr. Chiboucas is responsible for all legal affairs regarding the real estate investment operations of the company. Mr. Chiboucas also manages retained legal counsel, which provides legal services for KBS, including the negotiations and documentation of real estate investments across the United States. Mr. Chiboucas also assists with the establishment of the various KBS funds and manages their registration with the various regulatory agencies.

Mr. Chiboucas is a member of the Executive Committee which is responsible for advising on the general operations and strategic planning for the company.

Mr. Chiboucas has over 42 years of legal experience in the real estate industry, including real estate investment, finance, acquisitions, dispositions, development and management. He has been with KBS Realty Advisors since its inception in 1992 and previously with Koll Real Estate Group and The Koll Company since 1988. Previously, Mr. Chiboucas was a partner of Paone, Callahan, McHolm & Winton and vice president of Signal Landmark, a national real estate development company. While at Signal Landmark, he was responsible for all of their legal real estate transactional matters across the United States.

Mr. Chiboucas graduated summa cum laude and Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in business and later with a juris doctorate.
