Cumali Semetay has over 20 years of work experience in various engineering and technical roles. Cumali started their career at ISIKON Co. as a Production Engineer, where they were involved in developing a new heating plate and responsible for performing experiments and reporting progress. Cumali then worked as a Software Developer at EDA Bilgi Islem, where they programmed custom database applications for stock, money, and production management. At Marmara University, they served as a Research Assistant, assisting in CAD and CAM lectures and developing applications using the Genetic Algorithm technique.

Cumali continued their research work as a Research Assistant at Karadeniz Technical University, focusing on mechanical engineering topics. Cumali then joined John Deere as an Engineering Intern, where they worked on improving joint designs using finite element simulations and FEA results.

In 2002, Cumali joined Lehigh University as a Research Assistant, specializing in modeling heat transfer and fluid flow problems, with a focus on 3D metal printing technologies.

In 2007, Cumali joined Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas, Inc. as a Manager of Engineering & Design. In this role, they were responsible for creating and maintaining engineering standards and programs across all engineering disciplines. Cumali also performed CFD calculations and stress analysis for optimizing system designs.

Currently, Cumali is working at Komline-Sanderson as the Vice President of Engineering. Cumali manages and supervises product engineering, electrical and project groups, and supports various departments with engineering and design efforts. Cumali leads multiple projects, maintains project schedules, and strives to increase overall process efficiency.

Cumali Semetay earned a PhD in Finite Element Analysis, Welding Simulation, and Structural Analysis from Lehigh University, where they studied from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed an MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul University from 1998 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Cumali has obtained several certifications from institutions such as LinkedIn and Coursera. Some of these certifications include "Generative AI for Business Leaders," "Financial Accounting Foundations," "Lean Six Sigma Foundations," "20 Habits of Executive Leadership," "Process Improvement Foundations," "Agile Change Management for Manufacturers," "Executive Leadership," and "Operations Management Foundations." Cumali also holds certifications in topics like TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, the Internet of Things and Embedded Systems, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning. Cumali is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan.
