Elena Izmailova

Chief Scientific Officer at Koneksa Health

Elena Izmailova is the current Chief Scientific Officer at Koneksa Health. Elena has over twenty years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical industries, specializing in data science and inflammation research.

Izmailova began their career as a postdoctoral fellow at the Massey Cancer Center in 1996. Elena then moved to the Children's Hospital/ Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow in 1998. In 2000, they became a visiting scientist at the Whitehead Institute.

In 2003, Izmailova became a contractor for the Inflammation Department at Millennium Pharmaceuticals. The following year, they were promoted to Scientist II in In Vivo Pharmacology. In 2006, they left Millennium Pharmaceuticals to join Takeda Pharmaceuticals International as Sr. Director of the Data Science Institute.

Izmailova has been with Koneksa Health since 2018. In their current role as Chief Scientific Officer, they lead the company's scientific and clinical strategy, with a focus on digital health solutions that improve patient outcomes.

Elena Izmailova earned a master's degree in biology/virology from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in biology from the Russian Academy of Science.

Elena Izmailova reports to Chris Benko, CEO. They are on a team with Joe Tyers - Head, Commercial, Reynald Hiole - Senior Marketing Director, and Kirthy Dantu - Process & Validation Manager.
