Suzan Boreel

Suzan Boreel is an Informatiespecialist fulltextdigitalisering at Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB), nationale bibliotheek, since June 2019, specializing in the encoding of printed historical texts for conversion to TEI-XML. Previous experience includes a role as Stagiair eCodicesNL at Huygens ING (KNAW), where Suzan contributed to manuscript description verification for the eCodicesNL portal, and as Projectmedewerker at the Johan de Witt Stichting, focusing on metadata correction and Transkribus training. At Universiteit Leiden, Suzan served as a student-assistant, aiding in the organization of academic conferences. Additional roles include internships at Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren and Uitgeverij LAMBO, focusing on editorial tasks and quality control for digital publications. Suzan is pursuing a Master’s degree in Book and Digital Media Studies at Leiden University, building on a Bachelor's in Griekse en Latijnse taal en cultuur and a minor in Italiaanse taal en cultuur.
