Thomas Milo has extensive experience in the fields of general management, design, and development strategy, primarily as a Partner at DecoType since 1985. As a primary representative for the Sultanate of Oman at the Unicode Consortium, involvement since 1992 includes contributions to encoding writing systems with a focus on Arabic. Milo has authored and licensed the New Concordance to the Qurʾān to Brill Academic Publishers, developed Arabic computer typography for the Sultanate of Oman's Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and contributed as a member of various scholarly associations. Additional roles include consultancy in Arabic-scripted orthographies, typographic technology, and font design for notable organizations. Educational background includes studies at Leiden University and the University of Amsterdam, among others.
