Niels Van den Brink

Niels combines deep technical expertise with a keen commercial sense, a flair for design and an always ready smile. He has a career in technology that spans over twenty years across a broad spectrum of disciplines and roles, ranging from developer to business analyst and project manager to architect, in a wide variety of industries such as telecoms, insurance, finance, automotive, CPG, retail and energy. The recent part of his career he spent at bp, where he held roles as chief architect for Castrol and, most recently, chief digital architect for bp. In that role he helped drive a significant modernisation transformation with a focus on agile, devops, automation, and cloud-native microservices architectures. Furthermore, he created an internal human experience design capability and operation to help embed design-led customer centricity. His passion for helping start- ups blossomed when he performed technical and tech-cultural due diligence for several potential partners/acquisition targets, and he continues to follow this passion. Niels achieved an MSc in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology.
