Giuseppe Carella

Giuseppe Carella has a diverse work experience that spans various roles in engineering management and software development. Giuseppe is currently employed as the Director of Software Engineering at KORE since 2023. Prior to that, they held multiple positions at Twilio Inc. starting from 2018, including Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, and Associate Engineering Manager. Before joining Twilio, they worked as an Engineering Manager at Core Network Dynamics (Twilio) from 2017 to 2018.

Giuseppe also has experience from their time at TU Berlin where they served as a Team Lead, responsible for leading a team of software developers and conducting research and development in areas such as cloud computing, telecommunication infrastructures, and 5G. Giuseppe was also a frequent speaker at international industrial and academic conferences. Additionally, they worked as a Project Manager at Fraunhofer FOKUS, where they co-founded and managed the Open Baton open source project and led the OPNFV Orchestra project team. Giuseppe started their career as a Student Helper at Fraunhofer FOKUS in 2011. Giuseppe Carella holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering of Computer Science from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, which they earned from 2004 to 2008. Giuseppe then pursued a Master's degree in Engineering of Computer Science from the same institution from 2008 to 2011. After that, they attended Technische Universität Berlin to earn their Doctor of Philosophy in Informatics, specializing in Ingegneria informatica, until 2018.
