Seik Park

Principal Researcher : GT Combustion Using Carbon-free Fuels at Korea Electric Power

Seik Park, D.Eng. has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 2000, Park served as an engineer in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps for two years. From 2006 to 2009, Park worked as an Associate Researcher at SK innovation, specializing in engine performance tests and design modifications. In 2009, Park joined Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), where they held multiple roles, including Senior Researcher, Project Manager, Senior Manager, and Principal Researcher. During their time at KEPCO, Park gained expertise in GT combustion, carbon neutral policies, high-pressure combustion tests, and collaborative research projects. In 2016, Park became a member of the Technical Advisor Committee at Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), providing technical guidance. Park also had a brief stint as a Resident Researcher at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in 2019. In 2022, Park joined EPRI again and became a part of the Generation Sector Council's Gas Steering Committee. Throughout their career, Park has accumulated valuable skills in gas turbine combustion, fuel solutions, combustion analysis, and project management.

Seik Park, D.Eng., earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yonsei University in 2004. Seik then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, completing it in 2006. In 2021, they obtained a Doctor of Engineering degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, specializing in hydrogen combustion for GT. Additionally, Seik Park has obtained various certifications, including a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2023, a Licensed Professional Engineer (North Carolina) certification from NCEES in 2023, a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) in 2011, and Engineer Gas and Engineer Information Processing certifications from HRD Korea in 2011 and 2010, respectively.
