Mayur Patel, PhD

Mayur Patel, PhD has over 10 years of experience in the field of Chemistry and Biology. In 2022, they began their current role as Director of Chemistry Operations at Korro Bio, Inc., and they are also an Associate Director of Chemistry. From 2016 to 2022, they worked at Nitto Avecia as a Senior Scientist II, Peer Reviewer of Scientific Oligonucleotide and Biochemistry Journals, Scientist, and Associate Scientist, Process Development. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Visiting Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where they studied Cell biology and mechanism of action of novel modified siRNAs by targeting chaperone proteins. From 2011 to 2014, they were a Research Assistant at Seton Hall University, where they had expertise in synthesis, characterization of novel modified DNA/RNA nucleosides, nucleotides, sugars, phosphoramidites analogs and their conjugates using both solid/liquid phase synthesis, and gained hands on experience in cancer cell biology. Mayur also studied the activity of modified as well as native DNA/RNA oligonucleotides in gene regulation and their mechanism of action by various molecular biology tools.

Mayur Patel has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Seton Hall University in Biochemistry and Chemical Biology, which they obtained between 2011 and 2016. Mayur also has a Master of Science (MS) from New Jersey Institute of Technology in Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, which they obtained between 2008 and 2011. Additionally, they have a Masters in Chemistry certification.
