Reporting to the CTO, The Head of Data will be responsible for overseeing the data strategy, management, and analytics initiatives across the organization. This role involves leading a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure data accuracy, security, and usability. The Head of Data will collaborate with various departments to harness data insights that drive business decisions and growth.

What you’ll Do

Data Strategy Development- Define and execute the overall data strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Develop and implement policies for effective data management and governance. Team Leadership- Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management within the data team. Data Management and Governance- Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across all data systems.
  • Implement and maintain data governance frameworks and best practices. Data Analytics and Insights- Oversee the development of advanced analytics, including predictive modeling and machine learning.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for various stakeholders. Collaboration and Communication- Work closely with executive leadership to align data initiatives with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into business processes. Technology and Innovation- Stay informed of the latest industry trends and technologies in data science and analytics.
  • Identify and implement new tools and technologies to enhance data capabilities. Performance Measurement- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of data initiatives.
  • Report on data performance metrics to senior management. Mentorship and Leadership- Provide mentorship and guidance to existing data leaders within the organization.
  • Develop and implement training programs to upskill the data team. Sales Data- Work closely with the sales team to understand market data needs and leverage our first-party data to broker with others. Data Project Management and Operations- Strong project management skills to oversee end-to-end data initiatives.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data operations processes and workflows. Data Monetization- Explore opportunities to monetize the company's first-party data assets.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field. Proven track record of leading and managing data teams in a complex, data-driven environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., SQL, NoSQL databases). Advanced knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, Tableau). Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
