Mike Dyer

Mike joined Kreston Reeves in 1989 as a trainee Accountant and progressed on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in 1995. Mike became a partner with the firm in 2001.

Mike is a committee member of the ICAEW Farming & Rural Business Special Interest Group and is past Chairman of the group having been appointed in January 2015. He is also a member of the tax faculty.

Since joining the firm in 1989, Mike has worked with and developed a client portfolio primarily of owner-managed businesses (both corporate and non-corporate), with clients including farming businesses and estates, manufacturing businesses, shipping and petrol retailing, property developers, and estate agents. Mike’s client portfolio includes owner-managed companies with turnovers in excess of £50 million.

Involvement with this type of client portfolio has developed into advising owner-managed businesses and high net worth individuals on a wide range of areas including advising on all aspects of business structures and management, business succession, income, and capital taxes mitigation, and inheritance tax planning including family trusts.

Mike advises a particularly diverse range of agricultural businesses and families and helps them face the challenges of the ever-changing regulatory and economic environments. The agricultural team act for all types of agricultural businesses from small family-run farms to multi-site estates, from agricultural contractors to machinery rings, from open farms to producer organizations, and across the whole range of enterprises including livestock, cereals, top fruit, soft fruit, and viticulture.

Being a past chairman of his local hockey club, Mike is a keen hockey player and also a regular on the squash court. Mike also holds a number of honorary treasury and trustee positions for local charitable organizations.
