Paul Burrows has a diverse work experience in the Cyber Security, Intelligence, and Data Protection domains. Paul started their career as the CEO, Founder & Owner of KryptoKloud, where they provided compliance monitoring and detection services. Paul then became an IoD Cyber Security Ambassador for East Midlands, focusing on increasing awareness of cyber issues and their impact on businesses and organizations.
Paul also worked as the Cyber & Intelligence Director and Founder & CEO at Cyber Intelligence Ltd, where they delivered actionable intelligence and pro-active cyber delivery services. Paul served as the DLP Strategist and Security & Architecture Lead for Novartis, implementing Data Loss Prevention solutions globally. Additionally, they worked as the Lead Security Architect for the MHRA, leading a Digital Transformation program and providing incident response and investigation support.
In their earlier roles, Paul served as a Youth Board Associate for Lincoln City FC, driving commercial and fundraising efforts for the club's Academy. Paul also worked as the Senior Vice President at EWSIM Corporation of Canada, where they developed and brought to the market a Cyber Threat Intelligence System. Furthermore, they were the Cyber Security & Intelligence Director at EWSIM Ltd and Director (Cybercrime) at Ernst & Young LLP.
Paul's expertise extends to building capabilities in the Cyber and Intelligence domains, as seen in their role as the CEO of i4 Intelligent Solutions Ltd, where they helped clients in the defense and private sectors enhance their business capabilities.
Paul Burrows has a diverse education history. Paul obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Intelligence Systems from the University of Lincoln, which they attended from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science at the University of Central London, completing it from 2002 to 2004.
Before their postgraduate studies, Burrows attended the University of Westminster from 1988 to 1990, where they focused on Greek Modern Language, specifically modern Greek language and literature. In 1987 to 1988, they attended the Communications & Security Group (UK) and studied German Language and Literature as a Russian & German Linguist.
In addition to their formal education, Burrows has also obtained various certifications. Paul became a Fellow of the Learning & Performance Institute (FLPI) in 2012 and acquired the Shipley - BD activities certification from Shipley in 2011. Paul completed the EWSS (EW Scenario Simulation) Advanced course at EWA of USA in 2011 and earned the MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification from Microsoft in 2010.
Burrows has also acquired several technical certifications, including Simlat UAV Competency from Simlat in 2009 and Complex Signals (COMINT) Analysis Exploitation from Medav, Germany in 2009. Paul holds certifications in networking, such as Building Scalable CISCO Networks from CISCO in 2006, and CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) in 2006. Paul also has certifications in information security, including Planning & Documenting Infosec (Domain Based Security) from QinetiQ in 2006 and HMG Certificate of Infosec Competency from HMG, CESG in 2005.
Burrows has obtained certifications in ethical hacking and cybersecurity, including (CSSA) Checkpoint Certified Checkpoint Security Administrator from Checkpoint in 2005 and CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) from EC-Council in 2005. Paul holds other certifications like CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) from Cisco in 2004 and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) from (ISC)2 in 2004.
Their certifications also include Advanced Cyber Incident Handling Course from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Pittsburgh, USA in 2003 and Prince 2 for Project Managers & Prince 2 for Team Leaders from APM in 2003. Paul acquired the Information Systems Project Management certification from Parity Training in 2003 and the (CHFI) Certified Hacker Forensic Investigator certification from CEH in 2003. Further, they obtained the CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) certification from ISACA in 2003.
