Erica Hill-Rodriguez

News Director at KTLA

Erica Hill-Rodriguez has extensive experience in the field of news and content. Erica currently holds the position of Director of News and Content at KTLA. Prior to this, they worked at Fox Television Stations as the Vice President/News Director for KTTV-KCOP. In this role, they led a team of over 150 staff members and was responsible for overall editorial direction, content strategies, and audience development. Erica also managed a multi-million dollar budget, handled talent acquisition and contract negotiations, and analyzed ratings and audience growth.

Before joining Fox Television Stations, Erica worked at Tribune Media, where they held various positions including News Director for KCPQ/KZJO, News Director for KRCW, Assistant News Director for KCPQ, and Interim News Director for KCPQ. In these roles, they oversaw all on-air and online news operations, expanded programming, and increased Nielsen ratings.

Erica also has experience at CBS Corporation as a Field Producer/Assignment Editor for WBBM, where they coordinated stories and live coverage for reporters and photographers. Erica earned an Emmy for their spot news coverage in this role. Additionally, they worked at Tribune Broadcasting as a Senior Assignment Editor for KCPQ and at Fisher Broadcasting as a Managing Editor for KBCI. Erica started their career at KBOI as an Anchor/Producer.

Throughout their career, Erica has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic planning abilities, and a track record of driving audience engagement and growth.

Erica Hill-Rodriguez graduated from Boise State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs.
