Liz Hamel

Liz Hamel, MSW, currently serves as an Academic Advisor at The University of Kansas since September 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Youth Instructor at Youth Ambassadors, Inc., and various positions at the Mental Health Center of Denver, including Community Engagement Manager and Project Manager for Strategic Community Partnerships. Liz has also contributed to academia as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Denver's Graduate School of Social Work, where courses on Community Social Work Theory and Practice were taught, and as an Instructor in Political Science at the University of Colorado Denver. Additionally, Liz held leadership roles in community organizations such as Director of Programs at Building Bridges and Leadership Development Specialist at The Denver Foundation. With a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from The University of Kansas, Liz focuses on community engagement and social justice.
