Thomas Roderick has extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Thomas began their career as a Technology Manager in the Information Technology Department at The University of Kansas in 2003. In this role, they were responsible for managing various IT projects. Thomas then progressed to the position of IT Project Manager before being promoted to Assistant Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office in 2014. As Assistant Director, they provided oversight and guidance to the Project Management Office and represented the Director when needed. In 2019, they were further promoted to the role of Associate Director of IT Service Management and Governance, where they developed IT strategies and governance processes. Additionally, they managed various teams and initiatives related to IT service management and played an active role in organizational change management. Prior to their time at The University of Kansas, Thomas worked as a Teacher/Instructor at Kirkwood Community College and as the Lead Web Designer/Web Editor at The Daily Iowan Newspaper.

Thomas Roderick holds a Master's degree in Management and Leadership from Baker University, which they obtained from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Iowa, which they completed from 1995 to 2002. Additionally, Thomas Roderick has acquired several certifications, including a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from The University of Kansas in 2018.
