Melanie Whitney, CPA has a diverse work experience that spans over multiple industries and roles. Melanie currently works as a Controller at Kula Bio, a position they started in May 2023. Prior to that, Melanie worked as a Principal at Whitney Financial Consulting, providing strategic and operational finance and accounting support on a part-time or interim basis. Their responsibilities included offering fully outsourced CFO/controller services to life sciences and technology organizations. Melanie also worked as a consultant for Orum Therapeutics, where they assisted in developing the company's accounting function in the U.S. and Arranta Bio, where they worked with the Accounting and FP&A teams on various finance-related tasks. Before their consulting roles, Melanie served as a Tax Manager and Consultant at Dillon Consulting Group, specializing in tax and compliance services for a range of clients. Melanie also gained experience in the finance department of Rockland Trust Company, where they served as a VP/Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Manager and an AVP & Senior Accounting Officer. Melanie began their career as a Senior Tax Associate at G.T. Reilly & Company, a public accounting firm, and later worked as a Senior Associate at Vitale, Caturano & Company, where they trained and supervised associates in tax return preparation and provided tax planning strategies for clients.

Melanie Whitney, CPA, obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from Bentley University, where they attended from 2002 to 2006. Melanie later pursued a Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) degree from the Bentley University - McCallum Graduate School of Business, completing their studies in 2007.
