Matthew R. Janes

Matthew R. Janes has extensive experience in the biosciences industry. Matthew R. is currently serving as the Senior Director of Translational Medicine at Kumquat Biosciences Inc. since August 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Cell Biology at Wellspring Biosciences starting in September 2012. Before that, they worked as a Staff Scientist in the Oncology department at Takeda California, Inc. from January 2012 to September 2012. Matthew R. also served as a Staff Scientist in Biology at Intellikine Inc. from September 2010 to January 2012. Matthew R. Janes began their career as a Research Associate at Johnson & Johnson in 2001 and later worked as a Senior Development Associate at Telos Pharmaceuticals from 2003 to 2005.

Matthew R. Janes received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of San Diego, graduating in 2001. Matthew R. then pursued further education at San Diego State University, where they obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Public Health, completing their studies in 2005. Continuing their academic journey, Matthew attended UC Irvine and earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, which they completed in 2010.
